Which MarketerHire roles got hired more in July than in June? Less?

First, some context: July is a weird month for e-commerce. It’s the peak of the summer sales slump. Everyone is on vacation — sometimes entire companies

That said, this month…

  • Growth marketer’s slice of the hiring pie grew just shy of 40%.
  • Brand marketers — who had a moment in June! — collapsed back into the “Other” slice.
  • Content marketers did too.

Why growth grew

Growth marketers have been MarketerHire’s most-hired role every month since we started monitoring hiring trends. It’s no surprise they’re in demand.

Everyone’s angling to get a piece of the growing e-commerce pie, our sales team noticed — maybe prompted by this forecast from Web Smith.

Specifically, they’re gearing up for aggressive growth during the back-to-school and holiday rushes.

Our takeaway?

For marketers, the holiday season — and growth marketer season — never really ends.

And if it does, it restarts on the fourth of July.
