Growth marketer is always our most-hired marketing role at MarketerHire and March was no exception. Just like they did in February, growth marketers made up about a 1/3 of all hires.

Other roles were shifting, though, and three in particular gained hiring share...

1. Paid social media marketer

For leads, it’s “still the best quantity driver,” explained MarketerHire’s director of marketing Tracey Wallace.

Though Facebook recently updated its ad attribution offerings to comply with Apple’s upcoming privacy update, paid social ads remain high top-of-funnel performers.

2. Email marketer

Email is having “a renaissance,” Wallace said.

Companies over-sending to disinterested contacts or playing fast and loose with privacy regulations have realized they’re missing out — and they’re hiring consultants to help them change course.

3. CMO

The age of the part-time CMO, like Teal’s Amanda Goetz, is officially here: CMO’s may make up a tiny sliver of MarketerHire hiring, but they also tripled their hiring share in March — more growth than any other role saw.
